Part-time / Casual
- Please review our terms and conditions before lodging a job. We don't accept commission only, independent contracting (ABN) and jobs that pay below award wages.
- The difference between part-time and casual is important - part-timers will be entitled to sick leave and annual leave on a pro-rata basis.
- Check out wages and rates of pay or call the Fair Work Infoline on 13 13 94 if you have a query about wages and conditions of employment.
Graduate employment
- A graduate employment (or recruitment) program typically involves 6-18 months of training and development which aims to provide new graduate recruits with well-rounded experience of the organisation as an introduction to ongoing employment with them.
- Graduate employment programs usually recruit final year students early in semester one for commencement of employment early in the following year, with one or more positions offered annually.
Vacation work, cooperative placements and internships
- These opportunities enable students to obtain paid, professional course-related work experience over a specified period of time.
- They are traditionally aimed at penultimate year students (second last year of study), with the peak months for application closing dates being August and September.
- An increasing number of employers use this type of employment to assess the work performance of students for their potential as graduate employees.
* Please note: Unpaid internships that form an assessable component of a course are not advertised on Careers Online
Immediate start full-time employment
- These positions require successful applicants to commence full-time employment as soon as possible.
- Generally, they are suitable for graduates who have completed their studies within the past year or so and postgraduate students who are able to combine full-time employment with their studies.
- These vacancies are advertised throughout the year.
International employment
- International employment is available to students who are returning home to work or seeking work in other countries outside Australia, and Australian students interested in obtaining employment overseas.
- It includes graduate employment programs, immediate start full-time positions, vacation work and paid work experience.
Voluntary Work
- As a general guide, voluntary work will only be advertised if the organisation is not-for-profit, the position is not more than 16 hours per week, the position is not replacing paid workers and the activity is recognised as being of benefit to the community.
- The Leadership, Involvement & Volunteer Experience (LIVE) unit is responsible for coordinating volunteer opportunities
