Employer presentations
Information Sessions
On campus Information Sessions enable employers to inform targeted groups of students about their organisation, current employment opportunities and details about the application process.
As an employer you can make use of our audio-visual equipment and impressive lecture theatres to achieve audience impact and attract quality applicants. We book the lecture theatre, escort you to your venue and set up the audio-visual equipment to ensure that all runs smoothly.
You may wish to offer refreshments if you are holding an evening Information Session (this option isn’t available for lunchtime Information Sessions). Details of how to organise catering will be provided when you make a booking.
Tips for your presentation: include a recent UoM graduate. Students enjoy hearing anecdotes from their peers. Read more information on this at session tips. Read about the charges and how to make a booking.
The Networking Hour
The Networking Hour is an informal way of interacting with students to promote your graduate program and to discuss the application process. Conducted in an open seminar style room rather than lecture theatre, it enables you and your colleagues to circle amongst students and discuss your business and your opportunities.
The Networking Hour is available from 1 to 2pm and there is an option for catering within this time frame. Details of how to organise catering will be provided when you make a booking. Audio-visual equipment is not available. Read about the charges and how to make a booking.
Promotion of your presentation
For no additional charge, we will inform the students you want to target about your Information Session or Networking Hour in the following ways:
- Listing on Careers Online event scheduler.
- Display of your promotional posters in relevant faculties and departments. Have a sticker on your company’s posters: "Your company name will be appearing at the University of Melbourne on dd/mm/yy, 1:00pm-2:00pm in Theatre X." Send your posters to us (one poster per discipline that you are targeting) and we'll have them distributed. Alternatively, email an electronic copy and we will arrange for it to be distributed on LCD screens through the university.
- Promotion through faculty websites and newsletters (where available).
- Promotion through Careers & Employment’s weekly e-bulletin.
We also encourage you to inform students about your Information Session or Networking Hour via an email blast or consider publication opportunities and other activities such as web banner advertising and distributing your promotional material on campus.
