Employer Forum Report – Targeting Your Recruitment & Melbourne Degrees

On Wednesday 3rd August 2011, Careers & Employment held our second Employer Forum for the year with the theme Targeting Your Recruitment & Melbourne Degrees. The forum  was held on the morning of our annual Employment Experience Fair and the fair also proved to be a highly successful event.

The University has moved many of its professional degrees, which lead to a specific profession such as law or medicine, to graduate level. Through our redesigned curriculum, students complete one of six undergraduate degrees, undertaking a deep major specialisation, and being exposed to different ways of thinking by studying disciplines outside their core areas through the breadth component. Having completed their undergraduate degree, they can then enter directly into the workforce, or choose to continue their studies in one of our professional graduate degrees, or by going on to study a Research Higher Degree. This reflects the global education environment, offering students a world-class education.

The forum brought together a panel of key university leaders who spoke to over 60 key industry representatives about how to best target recruitment based on the Melbourne Degree structure.
